Ship baked goods overnight for less

Lower UPS and FedEx overnight and 2-day rates for bread, bagels, and pastry.

Bakery shipping is a shelf-life problem

A bakery shipping nationwide is buying time. Bread, bagels, and pastry stale on a schedule the carrier does not care about. UPS Next Day Air and FedEx Priority Overnight are how most bakeries buy that time. FedEx 2Day and UPS 2nd Day Air work when the formula and the pack have been tested for the extra day.

The Shipping Savers prices those services. The bread still flies UPS or FedEx. There is no contract and no monthly fee.

What changes the bakery label

  • The outer carton, not the loaf. Dimensional weight on a tall box of bread is a common surprise.
  • Friday pickups. A Friday overnight that will not deliver Saturday sits until Monday, and the product is gone.
  • Heat. Summer lanes need a pack-out the winter invoice will not show. Send both seasons if you have them.
  • Residential versus a cafe dock. Home delivery adds a fee the wholesale lane does not have.

A bakery week on the invoice

Friday is the day bakery invoices break. Product baked Thursday, packed Friday, and a cutoff that does not include Saturday, becomes a Monday delivery of Thursday's bread. If you sell Friday-for-Saturday, the service has to say so. We will not price a Monday label as if it were the product.

Loaf weight is the wrong weight. The carton, the insert that keeps the crust off the cardboard, and the ice pack if you use one, are the shipment. Measure that.

Par-baked and fully finished product should not share a service assumption. If you ship both, mark them.

Wholesale to a cafe and a gift box to a house are different fees. A bakery that does both has two rates. Send both.

How it works

  1. Send a recent UPS or FedEx invoice, or a shipment export with ZIP codes, service, weight, dimensions and charges.
  2. We compare the same packages and the same service. The price you see is the label price.
  3. If the numbers work, you ship with UPS or FedEx on our account. Our fee is one cent per label, already included. There is no monthly fee and no contract.

What you pay us

The Shipping Savers fee is $0.01 per purchased label. It is already inside the price on the label. We do not add a monthly membership. Carrier charges, residential fees, fuel, delivery-area fees and other accessorials are part of that label price, not a second bill from us. Read the pricing page for the full explanation.

The only published before-and-after figure on this site is one real shipment: a 10 lb UPS Next Day Air package, 10 × 10 × 10 inches, New York to Los Angeles. It was $35.75 before and $16.78 with The Shipping Savers. That is not a rate for your lane. Your price comes from your own file.

Shopify and ShipStation

You can keep the software you already use to take orders. Shopify stays the store. ShipStation can stay the place where the team buys labels. On ShipStation, our Chrome add-on shows the rate next to the order, including when the order uses third-party billing. See discounted rates inside ShipStation and Shopify shipping rates.

Questions

Do bagels need overnight?

Fresh product with a short shelf life usually does. A frozen or par-baked product may hold on 2-day. Price the service the product can survive.

Is there a contract, monthly fee, or minimum volume?

No contract, no monthly fee, and no minimums. The only fee from The Shipping Savers is one cent per label, and it is already included in the price you see.

Do the packages still ship with UPS and FedEx?

Yes. The same UPS and FedEx services, drivers, and tracking. What changes is the account the label is priced on.

How do I get a real price?

Send a recent invoice or a shipment export. We price your packages. We do not publish a table of sample lanes, because a lane that is not yours is not your price.
