FedEx discount rates without the volume hurdle
FedEx discount rates for a small business run into the same wall as UPS. The published discount arrives with a commitment, and the business cannot honestly make it. The Shipping Savers prices FedEx Ground, FedEx 2Day, and FedEx Priority Overnight without a contract, a monthly fee, or a minimum from us.
The package still moves on FedEx. Tracking, pickups, and the service clock stay FedEx. The account the label is rated on is ours.
What we are discounting
| Service | When a small business uses it |
|---|---|
| FedEx Ground | The default parcel when the promise is several days |
| FedEx 2Day | When Ground is too slow and overnight is more than the order can hold |
| FedEx Priority Overnight | Next-morning freight, including a lot of perishable and replacement orders |
FedEx and UPS on the same packages
Some lanes are cheaper on FedEx. Some are cheaper on UPS. We can price both. The test is identical input: origin, destination, weight, dimensions, residential or commercial, and the delivery promise. Switching a promise from Priority Overnight to Ground is not a FedEx discount.
The published dollar example on this site is a UPS overnight box, not a FedEx one. We are not going to invent a FedEx twin for it. Your FedEx number comes from your FedEx invoice.
A small FedEx bill, read line by line
Separate Ground, Home Delivery if you have it, 2Day, and Priority Overnight. A small business often has all four and a discount conversation that only mentioned Ground.
Home Delivery and Ground are not interchangeable in the spreadsheet. If the address is a house, use the service you actually tender.
Priority Overnight on a small account is where list rates hurt. If those rows are few but large, do not let a Ground average hide them.
Bring the same packages you would also rate on UPS if you are willing to use either carrier. If you are not, say FedEx only. We will not force a carrier change to win a comparison.
How it works
- Send a recent UPS or FedEx invoice, or a shipment export with ZIP codes, service, weight, dimensions and charges.
- We compare the same packages and the same service. The price you see is the label price.
- If the numbers work, you ship with UPS or FedEx on our account. Our fee is one cent per label, already included. There is no monthly fee and no contract.
What you pay us
The Shipping Savers fee is $0.01 per purchased label. It is already inside the price on the label. We do not add a monthly membership. Carrier charges, residential fees, fuel, delivery-area fees and other accessorials are part of that label price, not a second bill from us. Read the pricing page for the full explanation.
The only published before-and-after figure on this site is one real shipment: a 10 lb UPS Next Day Air package, 10 × 10 × 10 inches, New York to Los Angeles. It was $35.75 before and $16.78 with The Shipping Savers. That is not a rate for your lane. Your price comes from your own file.
Shopify and ShipStation
You can keep the software you already use to take orders. Shopify stays the store. ShipStation can stay the place where the team buys labels. On ShipStation, our Chrome add-on shows the rate next to the order, including when the order uses third-party billing. See discounted rates inside ShipStation and Shopify shipping rates.
Questions
Which FedEx services can you price?
Ground, 2Day, and Priority Overnight are the ones small businesses ask for most. If your invoice is Home Delivery or Express Saver, send those rows too. We compare the service you bought, not a different one.
Should a small business pick FedEx or UPS?
Whichever is cheaper on your packages at the service you need. The UPS versus FedEx page explains how to run that test.
Is there a contract, monthly fee, or minimum volume?
No contract, no monthly fee, and no minimums. The only fee from The Shipping Savers is one cent per label, and it is already included in the price you see.
Do the packages still ship with UPS and FedEx?
Yes. The same UPS and FedEx services, drivers, and tracking. What changes is the account the label is priced on.
How do I get a real price?
Send a recent invoice or a shipment export. We price your packages. We do not publish a table of sample lanes, because a lane that is not yours is not your price.
