Ship frozen food overnight for less

Cheaper UPS and FedEx overnight rates for frozen food, with the packing rules that keep it frozen.

The overnight frozen shipment

Ship frozen food overnight cheap is really two jobs. The food has to stay frozen until delivery, and the label has to be an overnight UPS or FedEx service you can afford to repeat. Gel packs alone often fail a summer lane. Dry ice holds longer and comes with carrier rules.

The Shipping Savers prices UPS Next Day Air and FedEx Priority Overnight for that box. The package still moves on those services. A lower number on a Ground label is not a frozen-food rate.

Pack, declare, label, cutoff

  • Freeze the product hard before it goes in the carton. A soft center thaws in transit no matter what the label says.
  • Choose coolant for the lane and the month. Gel packs and dry ice are not interchangeable.
  • Do not make a dry-ice carton airtight. Solid carbon dioxide has to vent. Follow the carrier's current dry-ice job aid for the mark, the declared weight, and the paperwork.
  • Buy the label before the pickup cutoff. Overnight that misses the truck is a two-day trip with a one-day coolant load.
  • Put the service you actually need on the comparison: Next Day Air or Priority Overnight, including Saturday if you sell Saturday.

Overnight versus 2-day for frozen goods

2-day air is cheaper on many lanes and it is the wrong default for a short coolant window. Use it when you have tested that the pack still arrives frozen, including a delay. Use overnight when you have not, or when the customer paid for tomorrow.

The cost example we will stand behind is your invoice, not a made-up frozen lane. The only dollar comparison published on the site is the 10 lb New York to Los Angeles UPS Next Day Air box at $35.75 versus $16.78. A frozen shipper with dry ice will be a different weight and a different cube. Send those rows.

What makes the frozen rate lower

You are not changing the product or the carrier. You are changing the account the label is rated on, and you are checking that dimensional weight and accessorials are not eating the discount. Our fee is one cent per label, included. There is no monthly fee.

Frozen rows we will not mix together

Gel-pack shipments and dry-ice shipments are different weights and different rules. We do not average them. If you only have one style, say so. If both appear on the invoice, they stay apart.

A frozen brand that upgraded every late order to overnight will show a cluster of expensive labels that were really a warehouse timing problem. We will point at that cluster. Switching the account does not fix a pack-out that misses the truck.

2-day tests belong in the file only when you have a note that the product arrived frozen. A 2-day price with no arrival note is not evidence. We will not recommend it from the price alone.

Declare dry ice the way the carrier's current instructions say. We can price a carton that is labeled correctly. We will not tell you to skip a mark to make a dimensional-weight number smaller.

How it works

  1. Send a recent UPS or FedEx invoice, or a shipment export with ZIP codes, service, weight, dimensions and charges.
  2. We compare the same packages and the same service. The price you see is the label price.
  3. If the numbers work, you ship with UPS or FedEx on our account. Our fee is one cent per label, already included. There is no monthly fee and no contract.

What you pay us

The Shipping Savers fee is $0.01 per purchased label. It is already inside the price on the label. We do not add a monthly membership. Carrier charges, residential fees, fuel, delivery-area fees and other accessorials are part of that label price, not a second bill from us. Read the pricing page for the full explanation.

The only published before-and-after figure on this site is one real shipment: a 10 lb UPS Next Day Air package, 10 × 10 × 10 inches, New York to Los Angeles. It was $35.75 before and $16.78 with The Shipping Savers. That is not a rate for your lane. Your price comes from your own file.

Shopify and ShipStation

You can keep the software you already use to take orders. Shopify stays the store. ShipStation can stay the place where the team buys labels. On ShipStation, our Chrome add-on shows the rate next to the order, including when the order uses third-party billing. See discounted rates inside ShipStation and Shopify shipping rates.

Questions

Is overnight always required for frozen food?

Not always. Some packs hold on 2-day air. If the product will not, overnight is the service we price. We do not swap in a slower service to win a comparison.

Do you set the dry-ice amount?

No. Dry ice is regulated. Use the current UPS or FedEx dry-ice rules for the label, the weight you declare, and the venting the carton needs. We price the shipment. We do not replace those rules.

Is there a contract, monthly fee, or minimum volume?

No contract, no monthly fee, and no minimums. The only fee from The Shipping Savers is one cent per label, and it is already included in the price you see.

Do the packages still ship with UPS and FedEx?

Yes. The same UPS and FedEx services, drivers, and tracking. What changes is the account the label is priced on.

How do I get a real price?

Send a recent invoice or a shipment export. We price your packages. We do not publish a table of sample lanes, because a lane that is not yours is not your price.
